I am developing a Maintain that utilizes a MS ACCESS database. One of the fields in the Access database is a memo field and when Webfocus generates the master file the field is done as shown below:
FIELDNAME=BIO, ALIAS=Bio, USAGE=TX50, ACTUAL=TX,
When I try to load the stacks for this data I get this error:
When I try the FINDBIO fex directly it causes this error:
0 NUMBER OF RECORDS IN TABLE= 1 LINES= 1 0 ERROR AT OR NEAR LINE 21 IN PROCEDURE ADHOCRQ FOCEXEC * (FOC702) THE OPTION SPECIFIED IS NOT AVAILABLE WITH TEXT FIELDS:
Which says to me that a TEXT field cannot be used in a PC HOLD. Am I understanding the error correctly? What would be a work around to pass this data to the maintain and back to the database.

The only thing I have been able to do with this kind of fields is to specify them as an A1000 field (or larger or smaller as needed). But this was with trying to access DB2 fields directly. It may work for MS access...never tried it. What exactly is in your FINDBIO fex? I do know, that if you do a simple table with a hold, the TX field MUST be the very last field in the record.
