JimRiceError creating a focus file with an index fieldname greater than 12 characters
Hi All,
I can't seem to create a focus file (using on table hold) with an index that has a fieldname longer than 12 characters.
When I use this it works:
ON TABLE HOLD AS FILENAME FORMAT FOCUS INDEX INDX_NAME123
If I use this it does not work and gives me the error below.
ON TABLE HOLD AS FILENAME FORMAT FOCUS INDEX INDX_NAME1234
Error occurred.
ERROR: MR_UNKNOWN_ERROR -12: Pcb2.: java.io.EOFException
Is this a bug or is there a limit on the length of the index field name?
Jim

Francis MarianiThat's definitely the limit - 12 characters. Don't know if this is improved in version 7.

PrarieYes you have to make a define field to change the name.
