If run the above example you get a list of cars with a total at the bottom of each car that shows a summary of sales.

Placing a NOPRINT after SALES hides the subtotal as well.

How can you show the summary of sales in the subtotal and not show the sales column?

Fernando, I think the only way you can do that is to use a SUBFOOT instead of a SUBTOTAL. 

DEFINE FILE CAR
SALESD/D10 = SALES;
END

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM 
     DEALER_COST
     WIDTH
     SALESD NOPRINT
BY CAR
     
ON CAR SUBFOOT
"*TOTAL SALES<+0> <+0> <ST.SALESD"

ON TABLE NOTOTAL
ON TABLE SET HTMLCSS ON
