Is there a way to Restrict the Data Adapters Displayed in the drop down list in the SQL Report Wizard/Asst tool (Dev Studio)?

I am using Oracle Adapters. I have an Oracle adapter set up with security via an explicit Oracle id assigned to an Oracle role. I have tried to setup Passthru Security on the Reporting Server but cannot get it to work - Any advice on good documentation for this would be appreciated.

I don't want my WebFOCUS developers in my Finance Domain seeing Data Adapters for my HR domain.

It seems like if a user is a developer he can
see all data that is available through any adapter via a SQL statement - so assigning domains, doesn't provide any security regarding SQL statements.

My initial take on this problem would be to create a separate reporting server instance for each domain and only have the data connections available that are needed for that reporting server. Then it is simply a matter of having a different odin.cfg file for your unique sets of developers. There may be a way to accomplish this on one server instance using profiles, but I have always used the method I described.

Hope this helps,

Kevin
