We get this mysterious message from time to time when trying to save a file. The annoying thing is that we can't seem to get rid of it until closing Dev Studio, losing our changes. What's triggering that message?

We don't use Dev Studio with version control, so the message is bogus in our case.

(Of course we do use a VCS, but the integration possibilities with Dev Studio are far too limited for us)

Could it somehow be turned on in DS ?

Ah blast! It must have defaulted back to on when I reinstalled Dev Studio...

Let's see if it stays off.

Strangely enough, even though it says "No Source Control providers are available", it still checks for - I assume - related file locks when saving.
Perhaps the option should default to "Off" if there are no providers, or the check while saving should be disabled under those circumstances? That should be a fairly easy change to make.

It happened again today and this time the setting blamed earlier was off.

What is causing this issue?!?

It gets funnier... If I wait a minute or so, I can usually save my file again. If I retry right away a couple of times, I get the message from the subject line each time.
