[SOLVED] FOCUS - WebFOCUS - IDMS release compatibility

We have been discussing the order of upgrades at out shop. We are in the process of upgrading WebFOCUS from 7.1 to 7.7. It's going fine.

After WebFOCUS is implemented, we want to upgrade our IDMS DB from release 16 to 17. Lastly we have plans to upgrade FOCUS from release 7.3.2 to 7.6.

The only WebFOCUS reference to IDMS access files says it will access IDMS r10.2 up to r15. Obviously we are accessing r16 already, so the accuracy of the documentation is slightly innaccurate. Or at least behind.

We want to do the installs one at a time if we can. Are there any known compatibility requirements that anyone knows of? Is the order of installations important to maintain accessibility throughout these upgrades.

One assumes that you are zOS but you do not say.

The officially supported WF/zOS matrix.

'zOS 1.9 and up zSeries 32on64bit' with WF release 7.7.0.1 and 7.7.0.2 support IDMS 12 - 17

'zOS 1.6 and up zSeries 32on64bit' with WF release 7.6.10 and 7.6.11 support IDMS 12 - 17

'zOS 1.6 and up zSeries 32on64bit' with WF release 7.6.0 thru 7.6.9 support IDMS 12 - 16

'zOS 1.4 and up zSeries 32on64bit' with WF release 7.1.x support IDMS 12 - 14

It is very possible that a 7.1 WF version will work with a 16 IDMS version it's just not officially a supported combo.

For FOCUS the support matrix documentation is out of date (September 2008) you really need to contact IB directly
