How do i limit the item description so that it doesn't take up another line... I would rather have it cropped.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Charles Richards,
You should be able to set the width of the column with the WebFOCUS stylesheet, and apply a class to the column, to turn wrapping off and and overflow to hidden.
-HTMLFORM BEGIN
<style>
<!--
/* Clip Data */
div {
width: 30px;
overflow:hidden;
}
-->
</style>
-HTMLFORM END
-RUN
DEFINE FILE CAR
Country/A40 = '<div>' || COUNTRY|| '</div>' ;
END
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT Country
ON TABLE SET CSSURL '/approot/baseapp/mystyle.css'
ON TABLE SET HTMLCSS ON
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
ENDSTYLE
END
Don't realy understand why you need CSS styling? Francis' solution works for all output formats and it's the most simple code to truncate the lenght of the field (basic webfocus). I don't understand what the added value is using css. Can you explain?
