MERGING CELLS IN EXL2K FORMAT

hi friends ,

We have a requirement that whenever there is a grouped column in a report and that report is exported to excel format. Then the cells in the grouped column be merged so that there are no empty cells in that grouped column. Please try the below code as an example,

There you can find that the column DIV having blank cells AS it is a grouped column.

What we want is those empty cells to be merged into one.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "merging into one." You can fill in the appropriate values when exporting to Excel by including SET BYDISPLAY = ON or I usually use it as follows in the ON TABLE section:

-IF &OUTPUT NE 'EXL2K' THEN GOTO NODISPLAYBY;
ON TABLE SET BYDISPLAY ON
-NODISPLAYBY

hmmm thanks darin...

Hmmm After opening the spreadsheet , we can merger empty cells into one. In the sense , remove border lines between two adjacent cells.

I searched the forum , i guess i will use BYDISPLAY in Excel..
