I have a filter panel that I generated via HTML and then I have a Page component that I created in 8204 which consists of two reports. I need to pass parameters from the HTML Filter Panel to the Page Component. Can someone advise how to do this? I have a parameter established under the "i" but when I click refresh in the filter panel, the parameter doesn't get passed. Can someone advise what I need to do?

Thanks!!!This message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,
I think Page Designer creates and uses it's own Parameters. I've never tried to pass parameters from an HTML page to a Page Designer page. Have you tried (AS A TEST) to create the parameters within the Designer and see how they work?

The html form with the parameters needs to have an action of refresh on the run button. On the tasks and annimations panel under the Requests/Actions section you will see the option to refresh and the target type will be Refresh BI Portal

Thank you very much for your reply. Unfortunately I already have a run button that refreshes all pages of the BI portal. It seems to me that parameters aren't designed to be passed from HTML canvas to a portal page since they have two different architectures? Does this seem possible?
A year ago I opened a case with support and asked this question...
I've created a Page using Webfocus Designer and added content that uses Amper variables. I see how I can create filters within the page, but I have an HTML document that I want to use to pass the variables to the page. I've added both the Page and the HTML filter document to a portal, but setting the filters has no affect on the Page. Is there a way that the Page could recognize the Amper variables?
Their answer...
We do not yet offer this functionality but it is a part of our features roadmap for the Page Designer. We are working towards introducing this added functionality in a later release - possibly the 8204 release of WebFOCUS.

Just to reiterate, BabakNYC is right about the page designer being able to create it's own parameters and they will work for multiple reports on the page so you really don't need a separate html page to use.
Thank you for using Focal Point!
