As of December 1, 2020, Focal Point is retired and repurposed as a reference repository. We value the wealth of knowledge that's been shared here over the years. You'll continue to have access to this treasure trove of knowledge, for search purposes only.
Join the TIBCO Community TIBCO Community is a collaborative space for users to share knowledge and support one another in making the best use of TIBCO products and services. There are several TIBCO WebFOCUS resources in the community.
From the Home page, select Predict: WebFOCUS to view articles, questions, and trending articles.
Select Products from the top navigation bar, scroll, and then select the TIBCO WebFOCUS product page to view product overview, articles, and discussions.
Request access to the private WebFOCUS User Group (login required) to network with fellow members.
Former myibi community members should have received an email on 8/3/22 to activate their user accounts to join the community. Check your Spam folder for the email. Please get in touch with us at community@tibco.com for further assistance. Reference the community FAQ to learn more about the community.
Effective as of today (Tuesday, October 28, 2008), the signature field with the following information will be required for all new registrations:
1) What version of WebFOCUS are you using? 2) What platform/operating system are you on? i.e. Windows, Unix, etc. 3) What output format(s) are you trying to create? i.e. Excel, HTML, PDF, etc.
The purpose of the signature field is because many of the questions are related to the version/release of WebFOCUS and platform you are using, providing this information will definitely help the community better understand the problem and therefore get a solution quicker.
For those already registered and approved but still missing the signature field, please kindly go into your profile and update your signature as soon as possible.
For those already registered but did not get approved before October 24th, please send your signature info (and other required info, if asked) to focalpoint@ibi.com before Thursday, October 30, 2008. Provided no response is heard on or before this coming Thursday, your profile will be deleted from the system and you will need to re-register.
Moving forward, new registrations missing the proper signature information will not be approved. The process will be: - After you are registered, we will send you a reminder email stating what required information is missing from you, e.g. name, company, occupation, and/or signature field, then will give you one week to respond. - If we still do not hear from you in the dedicated period of time (indicated in the reminder email as well), your registration will be deleted and thereafter you will need to re-register.

Part of the problem is that the 'Signature' profile field is buried way down within Focal Point. Requiring one to find the right place to click to get to ones Profile (GO ??), then clicking on the View/Edit Complete Profile link, and scrolling down a page or two to find it. And it's further confused with separate profile fields covering the info asked for in the Signature field.
So, it might be a good idea to clean up the user interface issues with the Signature info before, or coincident with making it required.
Note that I have no problem with the need for good WF version/platform info in Focal Point users signatures, just that it should be relatively easy to find the way to get it in there. It really isn't now.
While someone from I.B.I. gets the makers of this forum software to make changes to the profile page, we can, at least, refer to this posting ( Now Required: Signature field ) when we ask new members to update their profile.
