We develop WebFocus dashboards for several different clients. Internally we would like a single group view logon screen which would point to any one of these client's dashboards based on user id.

We have an alternative in place wherein a group view-based application path is defined in the site.wfs and the synonym access files are placed in different application folders apart from the synonym master file descriptions. The &WORP_MPV is passed from the logon screen to a focexec stored in Administration Console Configurations \ Client Settings \ Custom Settings folder to pre-pend the application path.

While this alternative is workable it requires considerable transitional coding given new folders and focexecs. We would like to take advantage of the existing focexecs and HTMLs currently deployed in each dashboard and only go the correct dashboard based on the user's assigned group.

We have WebFOCUS 7.1.6, operating on IBM iSeries.

Thanks in advance!

In WebFOCUS 5.3.2, I have successfully done what is described in the manual:

wf_mr_admin53.pdf - WebFOCUS Managed Reporting Administrator's Manual, Version 5 Release 3

Take a look at chapter 6: Creating Public and Group Views, page 6-5: Directing Users to a Group View Upon Login

You have to make sure each user only belongs to one group.

Look at the documentation for your version, things may have not changed to much...
