If I code:

-TYPE ACCOUNTING REPORT FOR &dept
-TYPE
-TYPE REPORT CREATED ON: &date

Any suggestions?

Interesting... How are you using the output from the -TYPE statements? The only place you would see them is in the view source from an html report unless you are HOLDing the report output somewhere.

Just wondering.

1. Like many of us here, I am a diehard old FOCUS coder. Back in that day I coded many
apps in dialogue manager.

2 Even now when I am debugging I want to do little things like skip lines to make my b4 and after test results a little more readable.

3. I am a little stubborn...I wanna control (Web)FOCUS, not let it control me. Smiler Wink

dont know if this is of any use. I had something similar..but instead of using the TYPE, I created a single field report with NOPRINT then created all the relevant text in a header. Foudn it easier to do all the styling I wanted on the final message.

-TYPE .
-TYPE . Message1
-TYPE .

You don't get a blank line, just a line the a single '.'. Hope this helps.
