Hi,

I tried to use a lower sign < in my heading. Works good with Output FOrmat HTML, but not with XLSX.

Any Suggestions?

HTML:

HEADING
"&|lt"

A < in the heading is used when wanting to display the value of a field ie. <COUNTRY.

Please post your code so we can better see what you are trying to do..

Thank you for using Focal Point!

As Chuck states, a < character is used to include a field value within your heading.

So, use that to your advantage - this is just one method.

TABLE FILE CAR
  SUM RCOST
      DCOST
	  COMPUTE CARAT/A1 = HEXBYT(60,'A1'); NOPRINT
   BY COUNTRY
   BY CAR
   BY MODEL
HEADING
"Using a carat <CARAT within the heading using XLSX format"
ON TABLE SET PAGE NOLEAD
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT XLSX
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
ENDSTYLE
END

Sorry @FP Mod Chuck and @Tony A,
I know you can Show values with < but thats not what I want.
I just want to see a lower sign < in my heading.

So there's not much of code which is interesting just

...
HEADING
" here I want to write something and Show a < sign, which is needed in the context of my heading"
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT XLSX
...

If I would want to have a HTML Format for example, than it's easy, beacause that's when I can write in my heading

...
HEADING
" here I want to write something and Show a &|lt, which is needed in the context of my heading
"
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT HTML
...

But with XLSX it's not working, it really Shows "and pipe lt"

So it has nothing to do with values...

Just Special characters for Excel

Did you bother to try my suggestion? It gives you exactly what you want in any format.
