I'm looking to create a default button push when someone clicks on --Enter-- in an editable field. There is no event for this, but I was hoping to coop the KeyPress trigger to do it. Is there a way to capture which key was pressed in this event in a JavaScript handler?

J.

John,

Please update your profile signature with your release and platform so that we may better help you.

What tool are you using, HTML Layout Painter? Or something else>

You can use the onKeyDown="some_function();" in the input. In your function, event.keyCode==13 will be the enter key.

May all your Alhambras have many towers. Thank you thank you thank you.

What remains is to find a way to remove the "default beep" whenever someone presses the enter key in a text field.

This is the goods right here:

  function OnEditBoxSupervisorSearchString_KeyPress ( ) {
    if (event.keyCode == 13)
      {
       event.returnValue=false;
       event.cancel = true;
       OnButtonSupervisorSearchSubmit_Click();
      }
  }
