Is it possible to perform a macro automatically or otherwise perform an Excel function once an Excel file has been written? I'd like to freeze panes of the created Excel report.

thanks
Smiler

In 7.1 it is possible to target an Excel web archive (template) that can contain macros. If you do not have 7.1 then you would have to pull the data from WebFOCUS by using a web query into an existing Excel s/sheet.

Thanks. We use 5.2.6.
I'm not sure how you would write the EXL2k data to an existing spreadsheet.

WebQuery is an Excel functionality. Go into Excel, under "Data" "New Web Query". You can link to a focexec there. You should look both at the Excel help and at the topic in IBI docs.

Greetings,

Web Query with Excel 97 and 2000 is covered on pages 8-49 through 8-65 in the Creating Reports With WF Language Manual 5.2 (DN4500513.0903).

You can view and/or download this manual from the Technical Documentation Library (i-Base).

If you have an InfoResponse ID, login on the Tech Support web site and then access the Library. By logging in first, you can download the PDF file and/or view the HTMLHelp version.

You can access i-Base via the following Web sites:

(From the top navigation bar, click Services & Support. Then select Bookstore.)

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Jennifer

or you could look at the article on Focal Point Developers' Corner, called "right click export to excel", which shows how to let focus create the webquery for you, and lets your users do it themselves.
Freezing Panes, filtering, some formatting, is all persistent across refreshes.
