I created a master file from an XML/XSD document. And the master file is hierarchal. Problem is that I am not able to access it.
Example:
Master file is

FILENAME=BASEAPP_XTRACTYPESSUBTYPES, SUFFIX=XML , $
SEGMENT=RETRIEVELISTRESPONSE, SEGTYPE=S0, $
FIELDNAME=RETRIEVELISTRESPONSE, ALIAS=RetrieveListResponse, USAGE=A1, ACTUAL=A1, $
FIELDNAME=MOREDATA, ALIAS=MoreData, USAGE=A10, ACTUAL=A10,
REFERENCE=RETRIEVELISTRESPONSE, PROPERTY=ELEMENT, $
FIELDNAME=ITEMTYPELIST, ALIAS=ItemTypeList, USAGE=A1, ACTUAL=A1,
REFERENCE=RETRIEVELISTRESPONSE, PROPERTY=ELEMENT, $
SEGMENT=ITEMTYPE, SEGTYPE=S0, PARENT=RETRIEVELISTRESPONSE, $
FIELDNAME=ITEMTYPE, ALIAS=ItemType, USAGE=A1, ACTUAL=A1,
REFERENCE=ITEMTYPELIST, PROPERTY=ELEMENT, $
FIELDNAME=NAME, ALIAS=Name, USAGE=A10, ACTUAL=A10,
REFERENCE=ITEMTYPE, PROPERTY=ELEMENT, $
FIELDNAME=DESCRIPTION, ALIAS=Description, USAGE=A10, ACTUAL=A10,
REFERENCE=ITEMTYPE, PROPERTY=ELEMENT, $
FIELDNAME=ITEMSUBTYPELIST, ALIAS=ItemSubTypeList, USAGE=A1, ACTUAL=A1,
REFERENCE=ITEMTYPE, PROPERTY=ELEMENT, $
SEGMENT=ITEMSUBTYPE, SEGTYPE=S0, PARENT=ITEMTYPE, $
FIELDNAME=ITEMSUBTYPE, ALIAS=ItemSubType, USAGE=A1, ACTUAL=A1,
REFERENCE=ITEMSUBTYPELIST, PROPERTY=ELEMENT, $
FIELDNAME=NAME, ALIAS=Name, USAGE=A10, ACTUAL=A10,
REFERENCE=ITEMSUBTYPE, PROPERTY=ELEMENT, $
FIELDNAME=DESCRIPTION, ALIAS=Description, USAGE=A10, ACTUAL=A10,
REFERENCE=ITEMSUBTYPE, PROPERTY=ELEMENT, $

procedure

TABLE FILE XTRACTYPESSUBTYPES
PRINT
ITEMTYPE.ITEMTYPE
END

I get an error : XML INTERFACE UNABLE TO FIND DDNAME/FILEDEF

What should i do to access it? Please help

Karanth,

To read your XML document you must issue a FILEDEF to associate the document with the master.

Look at the help for the XML adapter in the WebFocus Server Console, as the method is slightly different for different types of XML and platform.
