My desire is to use the result of the code below to pass a date parameter to a SQL statement provided by a third party
my code is
-SET &ECHO=ALL; SET ASNAMES = ON TABLE FILE AGBGIFT SUM AGBGIFT.AGBGIFT.AGBGIFT_GIFT_DATE/DMtYY AS 'DATE1' COMPUTE LY_GIFT_DATE/DMtYY = DATEADD(AGBGIFT.AGBGIFT.AGBGIFT_GIFT_DATE, 'Y', -1); AS 'DATE2' BY HIGHEST 1 AGBGIFT.AGBGIFT.AGBGIFT_GIFT_DATE NOPRINT ON TABLE SET PAGE-NUM NOLEAD ON TABLE NOTOTAL ON TABLE HOLD AS HOLD_YR FORMAT ALPHA END -* -* -* -RUN -READ HOLD_YR &DATE1.A11. &DATE2.A11.
the result that is being passed is '20160217170' what i need is '17 feb 2016'
why is the date being changed back from DMtYY to yymd ? and how can i control that so it does not
thanksThis message has been edited. Last edited by: Geoff Fish,
If you convert that date to a HDATE (using HDTTM), then you can create a string value using HCNVRT and store that in your ALPHA file.
