Just try the following codes, see what you'll get!

-SET &ECHO = ALL;
-SET &CREATEDATE = TODAY('A10');
-SET &EDITDATE = EDIT('&CREATEDATE.EVAL','$$$$$$9999') || EDIT('&CREATEDATE.EVAL','99$$$$$$$$') || EDIT('&CREATEDATE.EVAL','$$$99$$$$$');
-SET &SOMETHING = DATEADD(&EDITDATE.EVAL, 'D', 14);
-TYPE &SOMETHING
-EXIT

you've used the wrong function
you need to use AYMD on &variables.
DATEADD only works on defined or extant database variables with specified formats.
Kindly tone down your blasphemy.

DM is the problem, never has been able to manage dates particularly well.

code it like

DATECVT(DATEADD(DATECVT(&EDITDATE.EVAL,'I8YYMD','YYMD'),'D',14),'YYMD','I8YYMD');

Did you know that
-SET &CREATEDATE = TODAY('A10');
-SET &EDITDATE = EDIT('&CREATEDATE.EVAL','$$$$$$9999') || EDIT('&CREATEDATE.EVAL','99$$$$$$$$') || EDIT('&CREATEDATE.EVAL','$$$99$$$$$');
could be replaced by
-SET &EDITDATE = &YYMD;
