I have a Compound PDF report that will not function properly if a certain portion of the report is too big following a NOBREAK. It will either leave the page blank or overlap data from the file on top of itself. I read through some other FOCAL POINT posts in regards to this matter, but from what I've read no solution exists for this issue 100% of the time.

I'm posting this to see if anyone has an inkling as to what I'm referring to and thinks there is a permanent solution. 99% of the time my report works fine, but in certain cases a report will NOBREAK at the wrong spot for the report if the data happens to be too long in the following section. The page will then be blank and missing the data.

I'm on WF 5.3.3. Thanks to anyone who can message me in regards to this matter. Otherwise I just wanted to throw it out there for others to read and maybe comment if they've had a similar problem.

Thanks,

Will

This may not help at all, but have you tried SET PRINTPLUS=ON ?

Among the things this setting resolves are the following:

Printing beyond the length of the page no longer occurs.

Splitting of fields linked by OVER onto separate pages no longer occurs.

There is no reserved space for conditional output. The output page is fully used.

I faced this problem when we were on WF 5.3.2 but after moved to 533 it was working fine. We didn't change anything, just on the first table hold give,

ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF OPEN

after that dont specify anything.

Final table have ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF CLOSE

Let's try this and let me know.

When you state, "after that don't specify anything", are you telling me to take out the lines throughout the report that state:

ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF NOBREAK

???

If so, I need the NOBREAK in there for the rest of the sections, otherwise I'm starting a new page which is what I don't want.

I tried the SET PRINTPLUS = ON but that did not cure the problem.

Thanks,

Will

I think this was fixed in 5.3.4, according to techsupport.ibi.com. However, I would call it in to Customer Support, so that it can get fixed, if it is not. Check in your request if you have NOSPLIT specified. I did find problems in 5.3.3 and earlier with compound PDF reports and NOSPLIT. Customer support number is 1-800-736-6130, or open a case via Inforesponse Online at techsupport.ibi.com
