Recently did a search on how to print a report message when no data is found matching the report parameters and came across the below example in a forum message which was exactly what I was looking for:
-RUN >-IF &LINES EQ 0 GOTO NO_DATA; -EXIT -NO_DATA -HTMLFORM BEGIN No data for the selections you have made -HTMLFORM END
I went to look up the &LINES variable in the on-line documentation and am unable to find any references. Does anyone know where this variable might be documented? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,
&LINES is a so-called statistical variable. There is a whole section dedicated to system and statistical variables in the document called WebFOCUS Developing Reporting Applications. DN is 4501038.0510 for release 7.7. The document is obtainable in PDF format from the IB technical documentation website for free - provided you have a userid and password for that site.
