I am having trouble with compund where statements.

this code does not work:
WHERE SEASON_CODE NE 'H' AND SEASON_YEAR NE '04';

this does:
WHERE CHECK_SEA NE 'H04'

Is this the only way to define compound where statements? It seems a little excessive to define a new field just to filter Data.

BTW. I am trying to only eliminate records where both values are true. The first staement eliminates all Season_code = 'H' and All Season_year = '04'.

Just use the reverse logic e.g. where it's NOT true -

WHERE NOT (SEASON_CODE EQ 'H' AND SEASON_YEAR EQ '04');

THANKS TONY!!!!

That was the syntax, that for the life of me, I couldn't remember. I knew there was a very simple method to exclude values but it's been so long since I did that, I just couldn't put my finger on how to code it right.
