I have a public view called "General Public View". I created a page with an output content block. When I use the link that doesn't require a user to login, I can see that content block. When I use the dashboard link that requires a logon, I don't see the content block (the looks and colors etc. are the same, though). Can someone explain to me what's going on here?

When you set up your ID, what did you specify as your default view, in the Manage Users panel? What we have found (and i'm by no means a dashboard maven) is that when a user *logs* in, his default view gets copied into his 'MyView' and from then on, he only sees his 'MyView' as his entry screen. his 'MyView' never gets overwritten, even when the admin changes the content of whatever that "view" is. This 'MyView' thing is in a different place (the /worp_users presumably, but don't quote me). so when the admin changes content, the admin has to go to the 'Manage Users' panel and re-assign the default view for the user, checking the box that says 'replace user content?'. And then lo and behold the user will see the revised content.
There is a way for a user to select his own 'MyView'...but some users aren't given such priviledges...etc. its very puzzling to me that it works this way. especially for the public view. so we have a totally empty public view, end of story. seems very unproductive. I look forward to a response here from someone much more skilled than moi. -s
