Hi,

Assuming there are two columns Item and Location with values:

Item Location

1 10
1 20
1 30
2 10
2 40

How can I get the location count based on the Item Value?
For ex: I would need.. that Item 1 is in 3 locations

This is the very basics of WebFOCUS and you need to have a look at documentation before coding in WebFOCUS. Here is a sample to get count of location based on item.
TABLE FILE FILENAME
SUM
CNT.LOCATION
BY ITEM
END

Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Ram

No I tried this but it gives the count of every row as 1. So i just get it as
Count Loc
1
1
1
1

Ram is right, varsha.
you've done something odd in your code.
for examples, always use the car file
TABLE FILE IBISAMP/CAR

COUNT MODEL BY COUNTRY
END
