I have quite a listbox full of a few hundred customers. It has been requested that we create a textbox just over our listbox and allow users to enter the first few letters of a customers name and it would filter the items in the listbox based on that input.

I searched and found this thread...using ajax to perform the task.

We are running 7.6.2, is there any other option that IBI has added in since the time of this thread? Or any other ideas appreciates.

This is a great example and it appears to work much faster than having WebFOCUS create the <option>s for a <select> list - reduced number of characters in the XML file perhaps?

For the record, if you change that example to be non-sync, then the javascript will be a lot simpler, and it will be a wee bit faster.

Non asyncronous ... or however it is spelled, or syncronous if you're an AR type personallity.
