Hello,
I'm getting the following message in IE6 with active reports:

Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://mydomain:8080
Operation aborted.

In IE7 and 8 works fine.

Is this a known issue?

Thanks,
Carlos Dias

I think it has to do with IE6 being too old to understand ajax code.
Same goes for me ... Big Grin

IE 6 is obsolete.

Look at recent announcements by Google and several other web content providers.

All are withdrawing support.

Gamp, bye the way where I come from Ajax is a house hold cleaning product so I’ve known it for a very long time.

Actually, it does understand to some extent. The fact that WebFOCUS 7.6.11 HTML reports with embedded procedures work in IE6 is proof of that.

It does have it's peculiarities though, so it probably needs to be taken into account in the software (ActiveReports in this case), which I can imagine IBI stopped doing for unsupported versions of IE.

We're still depending on IE6 as well - we have several applications that rely on it that we can't upgrade to make use of newer IE versions, simply because there are no upgrades or because it is in-house software that nobody has time/knowledge to update. Yes, that is a bad situation to be in... Legacy and stuff.

It's the same where I live ...

If Wep5622 can use IE6 for active report, then there must be a different reason for Carlos not being able to open the site with IE6. But what could that reason be? Maybe something not present in the URL gets automatically filled in for you by IE7/8 but not by 6? (just guessing here ...)

IE6 is the problem.

Search for it in Google or any other engine.

It's simply to old to understand all the features of AJAX.
