I have a report that has two reports due to what the user wants to see. I'm able to get the report to display correctly when I select HTML but when I select PDF or Excel I only see the 1st report. Please any and all help is greatly appreciated! Smiler

Hi,

You will need to make PDF and EXCEL to be compound reports.

I left out an important part. The user gets all three options. I'm using a parameter for the format.

You can take a look at the following page as an example for PDF.

http://documentation.informati...r26_pagelayout13.htm

It should be the same for excel as well.

I'm assuming that you have a variable that determines the format. Then you can add the OPEN and CLOSE keywords only for PDF and EXCEL format.

Hope that helps.

Best Regards,

Jimmy Pang

Ok...I was able to get both of the reports to show up but they are displaying on seperate pages instead of one after the other. I'm a littlw closer. I used the ON TABLE SET COMPOUND OPEN NOBREAK on the first report and CLOSED on the 2nd report.

It might be depending on the report size that may not fit in one page. You may need to resize the reports (example from link)

They are both like 10 lines at the most.

Hi,

Below are two ways to get the compound report to display in one page (approx 10 lines). And they seem to be working.

1) Directly into the ON TABLE HOLD

-* File compound.fex
-*SET COMPOUND='OPEN NOBREAK'
TABLE FILE EMPDATA
PRINT
     DIV
     DEPT
     SALARY
WHERE RECORDLIMIT EQ 10
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF OPEN NOBREAK
-*ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
HEADING
"EMPDATA"
END

-*SET COMPOUND=CLOSE
TABLE FILE EMPLOYEE
PRINT
     DEPARTMENT
     LAST_NAME
     FIRST_NAME
WHERE RECORDLIMIT EQ 10
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF CLOSE
-*ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
HEADING
"EMPLOYEE"
END

2) Using the SET command

-* File compound.fex
SET COMPOUND='OPEN NOBREAK'
TABLE FILE EMPDATA
PRINT
     DIV
     DEPT
     SALARY
WHERE RECORDLIMIT EQ 10
-*ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF OPEN NOBREAK
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
HEADING
"EMPDATA"
END

SET COMPOUND=CLOSE
TABLE FILE EMPLOYEE
PRINT
     DEPARTMENT
     LAST_NAME
     FIRST_NAME
WHERE RECORDLIMIT EQ 10
-*ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF CLOSE
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
HEADING
"EMPLOYEE"
END

Best Regards,

Jimmy Pang
