Is there a way to save the output of 'check file picture' to a file? Currently I am using mainframe focus 7.2.9.

Allocate OFFLINE to a dataset.
Set PRINT to OFFLINE.
Run your CHECK FILE command.
Close and free your OFFLINE file.

hmmm, CHECK FILE filename HOLD is not going to save the 'diagram', it is only going to save a foctemp file reporting the structure of the original file...very good for determining formats and field lengths when you're building complex interim hold files.
