[SOLVED] Scheduling reports
Hi all,

I tried scheduling the procedure using reportCaster and send the report through Email. It is not getting sent and how to find out whether the report has run in the specified scheduled time.

Kindly help.

I scheduled the procedure using report caster. But "Log" says "No report to create" and it says "Task Finished".

The report holds the same data before and after the schedule runs.

SO is that the problem? If we find difference in data after scheduling, will scheduler produce us the proper result?

Does the report produce data if you run it outside of ReportCaster?

Hi,

Thanks for Reply.

I do get the output if I run outside the reportcaster.

By the way I have scheduled the Hold file to Run and not the procedure. Its working fine.

What is your output ?

Have you checked the RC logs to see what is happening ?

Whatz that actually ? How can a HOLD file be scheduled... If am not wrong, a FEX file can be scheduled with RC, not a HOLD file....

Also check RC logs, and go line be line.. Put -EXITs if there are multiple Table file requests and check...

Also check whether all the &variable have a
-DEFAULT set for them.

Check if u have put the APP PATH appname and APP HOLD appname .. RC expects them both always..

Thanks,

Ramkumar.

How do you make a HOLD file run? Confused

HOLD files "hold" data, not code!

Well, technically you can put whatever you want in an alpha HOLD file so yes, you could potentially -INCLUDE myhold.ftm (assuming you previously put WF "code" in that HOLD file) and the magic of Dialogue Manager will parse it and send its content to the FOCUS stack therefore allowing to "run", but is this really what you're doing?

You can transfer a file with Report Caster (Task Type=File). Perhaps that is what he meant.

since he hasn't replied in 11 days and the item is closed, I think we can all give up on trying to figure out what he meant.

I personally think it's a language comprehension issue -- English and WebFOCUS. But as my coworker used to say, his English is better than my Hindi.
