Hi, my application support 2 different groups. I have created 2 different Application directories, one for each group. When a user logged in, a variable is set to know in which group he is. When he run a FEX, based on that variable, I will like to retreive data from Application directories a or b.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

You might want to look up the APP commands like APP PREPENDPATH or APP MAP. You haven't given a lot of detail, like is your application self-service or MRE or what is in the two directories, files or programs or both. So give us more info.

Also please update your profile signature with your platform, product suite, and release as this information could affect the answers we give you.

Hi, my application is self-service. In those applications directories, I have the synonyms created. So I'm trying to access the synonyms from one directory or the other based on which user logged in. I'm using FOCUS language, not Developper Studio. Thank you

Alter your path using the APP PREPENDPATH &DIRNAME based on what the user has selected.

There are lots of posts on the forum about situations like this.

What Ginny is suggesting is the way top do this.

the PREPENDPATH will put the &DIRNAME directory as the first directory in the search path.

You could also use APP PATH dir1 dir2 dir3 etc

Waz...
