The Information Secuirty Administration team in our organization would like to take over the user administration role for WebFocus.

Is it possible to restrict access for the members of that team to just the User Adminstration, group and role creation.

They should not have access to adapters or synonyms.

Also, We are planning an upgrade from 7.6.4 to 7.7.03 . Also planning to do a Siteminder SSO intergration.

Since domain, group and user administration happens at the WebFOCUS Client/MRE level whereas adapters and synonyms do operate at the WebFOCUS Reporting Server level, that should allow for the clean separation of admin roles that you expect.

So, do you suggest that I give this team just the Managed Reporting Administration URL?

What if someone from the ISA team gets the URL for the Managed Reporting - then we have an issue.

I created a test user with just the Managed Reporting Administration Role. This user was not assigned any groups. When I open the Managed Reporting with this ID, the user is able to view and edit server components such as the applications under the data server, the domains and everything in them - the adapters, the HTML files, the FEXs etc.
