So I put this in my master file because I'm creating InfoAssist targets for my users and I wanted to spiff up their field choices. They do a lot of stuff based on traffic flow that compares days of the week to each other --

DEFINE SERVICE_DAY_OF_WEEK_INDEX/W = SERVICE_DT;
DEFINE SERVICE_DAY_OF_WEEK/A8 = DATETRAN(SERVICE_DAY_OF_WEEK_INDEX, '(W)', '(wr)', 'EN', 8 , 'A8') ;

Easy-peasy. It's inconceivable that anything could go wrong. Well, Wednesday doesn't appear. No Wednesday. None. Not one record for the last three years. The other six days appear and Wednesday's data seems to appear on a line where the Service_Day_Of_Week field is blank.

But I'm not buying it. I think this is a global conspiracy, and I bet I'm not the only guy that's been working Wednesdays while the rest of you have been slacking off. I think the numbers on that line with the blank day of the week are bogus -- just put there to appease me. Well I'm on to all of you, and now all the rest of us chumps are too. Everyone else that's been falling for this -- let's all show them how we feel.

DO NOT WORK ON WEDNESDAYS.

I'll be at the Wharf Rat Pub drinking beer if anyone wants to join me.

J.

Well spotted Jack.

Changing it to A9 seems to fix the issue.

That was code taken straight out of the help files by the way. Silly me!

Hey, I had fun with them.

Don't get me wrong -- they're no Quarriors, but this was still a nice diversion for the afternoon.
