Hi,
i need to get the column title or alias for the "FOR" field. is there any way to achieve this? Below is the sample code,

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM SALES
RETAIL_COST
FOR COUNTRY
ENGLAND OVER
ITALY OVER
FRANCE
END

No title is displayed for the 1st column. I need to get a title displayed for the 1st column.
Thanks
Hari

If you hold the result of this in a hold file, and look at the masterfile, you'll notice that the for-field (country in this example) has a blank fieldname.
So you could code this example as:
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
     SALES
     RETAIL_COST
FOR
     COUNTRY
'ENGLAND' LABEL R1 OVER
'ITALY' LABEL R2 OVER
'FRANCE' LABEL R3
ON TABLE NOTOTAL
ON TABLE HOLD FORMAT ALPHA
END
-RUN
TABLE FILE HOLD
PRINT E01 AS COUNTRY
      E02 AS SALES
	  E03 AS RETAIL
END

Hope this helps ...

You can also code it as a heading

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM SALES AS ''
RETAIL_COST AS ''
FOR COUNTRY
ENGLAND OVER
ITALY OVER
FRANCE
HEADING
"Country<+0> Sales <+0> Retail Cost"
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
TYPE=HEADING, HEADALIGN=BODY,$
ENDSTYLE
END
