We are troubleshooting a user request for historical data pulls covering multiple years. Processing on Oracle side takes in excess of 1 hour. When .fex is called from html launch page 'submit', after 60 minutes, the broswer window changes from the general opening WF report mode to a general browser 'cannot find server' error message. Behind the scenes, Oracle is still running.

What causes this and how can we prevent it in the future? Are there settings we can adjust to increase this built in 'timeout'-like behavior?

Yes...we are definately focused on the oracle side too. This would be a temporary fix to enable user functionality while we get this improved/corrected. .

Timeouts,

Browser, WebFOCUS server, HTTP and/or application server.

But I would suggest that a job that is taking so long should either be run via caster or in deferred mode.
