ReportCaster and WF Server Procedures
In ReportCaster, when I select WF Server Procedure as the Task Type, in the displayed list of programs, I expect to see all fexes that are in all app folders defined in the app path. I only see the fexes from one of the folders - it's not the first app nor the last app in the app path. Coincidentally, it's the one app that is an MRE Domain that's mapped as an app.

Am I wrong in assuming that I should be seeing all fexes that are in all app folders defined in the app path?

Thanks,

Francis

You might want to not map this and see what happens.

Normally no ... but that first quote kind of concerns me.

I know, It's concerned me for several years. I inherited this environment from F.P. and I'm not too happy about it.

Thanks,

Francis

When we were running 5.3, we would see all the fexes that were defined in the directories in edasprof and the user's profile. We were continually having to add directories to the user's profile.

Try dhagen's suggestion and unmap that MRE domain. That sounds weird anyway.

Like I said, I inherited this environment a while ago and, while I'm not too happy about it, I can't un-map that MRE domain - there's too many -INCLUDES and a pile of other MRE/non-MRE things going on. When we migrate to 7.6 I plan to clean this up.

Since it's really just another folder on the server that's been mapped, why should this be a problem - odd, yes, but a problem?

It's correct.
You should be seeing all fexes that are in all app folders defined in yor app path ( mappings ).
I work with Report Caster , and I see all fexes that are mapped.

Can you logon as the execution id of the RC schedule and do an APP SHOWPATH? That will tell you what is in the path. If you only see one directory, check the profile for that execution id.

Francis, also you might want to rule out read access issues at the op sys level as a side thought. But you should be able to see all fexes that are in all app folders defined in the app path.

The ReportCaster server is on the same Windows server as the WebFOCUS server - since I haven't been experiencing any problems with our WebFOCUS self-service, MRE and Dashboard applications, Im don't think there's a permissions issue.

Ginny, "Can you logon as the execution id of the RC schedule" - logon to where? When I run APP SHOWPATH on the WebFOCUS Server, I get the correct Apps in the App Path. I am using "admin", the default WebFOCUS User ID to login to ReportCaster. We do not use user profiles.

It was just a thought, Francis. We have lots of user and application ids used as RC execution ids and they all have profiles.

The id you use to log onto RC is an MRE id, not an operating system id. What is the execution id for your schedule? Or is that not relevant either?

We are an AIX environment. Windows is clearly a different animal.
