How can I give a value to any instance where there is missing data. NODATA seems to only change the display without assigning an actual value. I have not had any luck finding anything in the forum that has yet to work for me.
Thanks for any advise. This message has been edited. Last edited by: <Kathryn Henning>,

Try HNODATA, it should hold the value in a hold file.

I could not get HNODATA to work, but while I was looking in the documentation for that I found HOLDMISS and then was able to do a DEFINE using IS MISSING to set a value to the null instances.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! So glad to finally have this working.

*update
We found that we can DEFINE the field as itself with MISSING ON. Once we have done that we are able to COMPUTE and use IS MISSING to create a value for any null instances.
