One of the developers at my location contacted me this morning regarding a report that uses a call to a SQL proc to extract an answer set. The problem is that it takes about 12 1/2 minutes for the answer set to return.
He has about 15 other reports that use the same method. All these other reports work fine. If you run this particular proc in analyzer, it comes back in seconds.
Here's the specifics:
SQL SQLMSS SET SERVER servername SQL SQLMSS EX DRESFCST.dbo.proc_name &RPTING_SET, '&RPT_LVL'; TABLE FILE SQLOUT PRINT * ON TABLE HOLD AS RPTDATA END
All required columns in the base tables used in the procs have been indexed.
The sql calls are coded exactly the same as they are in the other 15 reports.
The developer may end up writing the report in WebFOCUS instead now to get around the problem even though this is more of a bandaid solution that trying to get to the root cause.
