I'm using the Google Map and have created a procedure to center it on a location upon launching. I have various pins that mark different sites and at each site, I have drill downs using info windows.
All of it is working well.
However, after clicking on the info window, I'd like the map to re-center itself, that is snap back to the original starting point. Has anyone been able to do this? Not sure if it requires JavaScript or other coding not readily evident or seen in the Map Properties window.
Thanks, KimThis message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,
I put a button on the page and call a javascript function. If you are saving your marker bounds then use this:
function setOrigCenter() {
// ===== determine the zoom level from the bounds =====
map.setZoom(map.getBoundsZoomLevel(bounds));
// ===== determine the center from the bounds ========
map.setCenter(bounds.getCenter());
}
If you aren't saving your bounds then do this:
function setOrigCenter(vZoomIndex) {
// set the map to Minneapolis, MN
map.setCenter(new GLatLng(45.034715, -93.231354), 13);
// set the zoom to whatever you want
map.setZoom(vZoomIndex);
}
Thank you Norb for the recommendation. Unfortunately, it did not work for me. I'll have to go and double check my code. I didn't use a function to get the original center, I used a fex by following IBI's instruction:
