Just started a new job and don't know FLEX. I need to build financial reports in WebFocus in Developer Studio. That's my only option.
A simple example to learn from will help e.g. lets just say I have a table with cost, sales and profit for multiple years for two products and I need to compare a years worth of sales growth for each product not product to product. List the sales of Jan, Feb, Mar....Dec and then list the growth in the second column with difference between Jan and last years Dec in front of Jan, between Feb and Jan in from of Feb so on and so forth till Dec and Nov in front of Dec.
Will help if someone can explain DB_Lookup and MATCH commands and how to use them with simple example in simple words. I know what these command/functions do it, I want to know how they do that so I can use them.
MATCH: The MATCH command merges record subsets from two or more data sources to a HOLD file.
DB_LOOKUP: The DB_LOOKUP function enables you to retrieve a value from one data source when running a request against another data source, without joining or combining the two data sources. DB_LOOKUP compares pairs of fields from the source and lookup data sources to locate matching records and retrieve the value to return to the request. You can specify as many pairs as needed to get to the lookup record that has the value you want to retrieve. If your field list pairs do not lead to a unique lookup record, the first matching lookup record retrieved is used.
Any tutoring available for WebFocus Developers Studio, mostly need help with the syntax. This message has been edited. Last edited by: <Kathryn Henning>,
