Raising the question on the forum is a good idea but not all employees
of IB customers using WebFOCUS and it's many, many adapters use it.

In fact it's a minority, as with all products.

Hi Neil,

We use Lawson Financials and Webfocus as our financial report writer. We work in the Finance department and with a little help from IBI and our IT department, we were up and running in a few months.

We have many different consolidations so we rely on Lawson attributs to do most of the work for us. We had our IT department create a view that put most of the fields (from GLAMOUNTS, GLNAMES, GLCHARTDTL, AUMXVALUE AND GLACCMXVAL.

As you are well aware, Lawson does a great job with providing options to consolidate, the report distribiton was the killer. We must have had 1300 report and we cust it down to about 50. It took 1 1/2 days to get reports out, now its about 2 hours. We built in some drill down features that point back to the GLTRANSACTION file which saves a lot of questions. We work in accounting and still post journal entries so I think it can indicate that its a pretty easy application to learn.

Detail GL reports with heirarchary in WF does nt really work to well and we needed to have IBI write something for us. We had to delay upgrades because of this issue.

We are moving off of Lawson starting in a few months and its a shame becuase we were looking for other Lawson users for years.

I would definately go through the whole process again and I highly recommend it over Lawson BI.
