We have some drill down reports in PDF format, when we drilled down, it gave the error:
Unknown error occurred. Agent on reporting server EDASERVE may have crashed. Please investigate reporting server log.
These reports run fine in version 4.36, 5.26, 5.33, 7.60, 7.61. I forgot to check this in 7.62. Now we are testing 7.63 because of some unresolved issues.
We started to upgrade from Jan 2007 starting with version 7.60, then IBI recommended to go to 7.61, and then 7.62 and then 7.63.... I am not sure when this upgrade can be done?????????

i get that error *all* the time...it seems to be a sort of 'default' error message... for me it comes from something as simple as a GOTO label where i screw up the label. or a label that is longer than 12 characters, or some other brain failure...always my own, not focus's. It sounds *so* catastrophic, when in fact for me it always turns out to be an 'oops'. rerun your fex in a test mode...put a -RUN -EXIT in at an early place... run it if you clear that part, move the -RUN -EXIT down further and go again. till you find the bit that's messing you up.

These programs have not been changed since version 5.33. It is so unstable now if I drill down 10 times, it may work 7 times, and another 3 times will crash. However it always works in the first time so far.

My current client experiences this on their install (dev mainly). The most frequent occurence I see is when I execute a fex from edit within DS. If I execute it from the APP folder file list the fex runs fine. Like Susannah, a reread of the code and I normally spot something I've done, but I put it down to a disldysly dyslexic keyboard .
Have only seen crashes for users a few times on Prod though. If they run the fex again they don't seem to have problems
From experience, I would be inclined to stick with 7.1.6 until more people report greater success with the likes of 7.6.3. Especially after reading HAMMO1J's mammoth postings on the problems that he's encountered on 7.6.2. A great service to us all I think and one to be applauded. Well done John and thanks for the information.
