I have a portal page set with an html page with two buttons in one frame. I have a fex in another frome in the same portal page. Both buttons refresh the portal page. I want to pass a parameter value indicating which button I selected. I thought the value in the button properties would be passed, but it doesn't appear to be.

How do I update the a parameter to be passed? Do I have to hide a text object that is attached to a parameter and update it via Javascript when I select a button or is there an easier way?

First thoughts.

Can you have the button press set a value in a control hidden or otherwise and that is passed to the fex in the frame.

The other button does the same with a different value.

To avoid doing this with JavaScript, each button could execute a different fex, each one setting necessary parameters and then passing the parameter the fex used in the other frame.

I know I can do that when I am sending it to a frame within the HTML form, but I want to send it to a frame outside of the HTML form. I want to send it to a frame on the Portal Page. I can not name a frame that is not in the html form.

Hi Jay

When clicking the button set a hidden input box and have a parameter associated with the input box. You should be able to pass the parameter to the portal by using Request/Actions on the Task and Animations panel in App Studio. Its the same thing as Magical Filters in 77.

Have a great day
