I would like to generate a CSV file from a report that uses SQL statements along the following lines.

SQL
select A, B
from SOURCE
where C = 'term';
TABLE HEADING "Occurrences of term"
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT COMT
END
-RUN


This results in a file named "Controller" without a .csv extension. It contains all the data I expected, but no headers and instead of comma-delimited it is tabulated with numerous spaces. How can I generate CSV-formatted output?

I got it to work by first preparing an intermediate file and then specifying ON TABLE PCHOLD in a subsequent TABLE request based on that file. Apparently the ON TABLE PCHOLD setting must be handled outside of the SQL part, while other ON TABLE settings work within it.

SQL SQLORA PREPARE SQLOUT FOR
select A, B
from SOURCE
where C = 'term';
END

TABLE FILE SQLOUT
PRINT *
ON TABLE HEADING "Occurrences of term"
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT COMT
END
-RUN
