"Internet Explorer cannot download File.doc from ServerName. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet Site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later."
Problem:
Receive the above error message when trying to display a PDF or EXCEL file in their IE browser after enabling Secured Socket Layer (SSL)
Solution:
To correct this issue, perform the following from the IE browser:
1. Click on Tools, then Internet Options and followed by the Advanced button 2. Check the box under the Security section that reads: "Do not save encrypted pages to disk"
The strange thing is that these two articles state that turning the check-box OFF will resolve the problem, while IBI's article states turning the check-box ON solves the problem.
Unfortunately, we will have to get all our users to turn the check-box on, unless something can be done on the server.
Cheers,
Francis
