[SOLVED] Webfocus server hangs - No free agents found!

Hi,

Everytime I run a long query(in a report) by mistake and terminate it and rerun the procedure, it takes forever to return data. It seems like it doesnt know how to terminate the previous query. Also the command window that runs the edastart.bat keeps showing the message: No free agents found.

And in order to run my report again i need to logoff and log back in as i cant kill the process completely.

Can anyone please help with this?

Are you running this with a stand-alone version of Dev Studio? The default maximum number of agents for that is 2. You would have to start the console for the stand-alone server and adjust the maximun and number ready. Or edit the edaserve.cfg file (carefully).

If this is not your configuration, please let us know.

Yes, I am running a standalone version of devstudio. Is it ok to increase the number of agents? I just need to know a way to free the agents gracefully I guess. Please let me know.

It is ok to increase the max number. Just leave number ready to be 2.

You can log onto the console and kill the agents that you have terminated ungracefully. Smiler

You can start agents up to the maximum depending on the amount of memory on your machine.
