New to Web Focus and current job,
Cannot find answer to my question on this board or else I am blind...

How can I change the default spacing between fields on a report (pdf) Trying to squeeze as many fields as I can into a page without spanning.

Also concatenation of 2 fields (Name First & Last)
any suggestion.

I would read the manual if I could find one....

Thanking you in advance

Add the following to your stylesheet code:

TYPE=REPORT, LEFTGAP=.03, RIGHTGAP=.03, $
This will reduce the default gap between columns to .03 inches. Make it less if you require.

Concatenate First and Last name with 1 space betwen them:

COMPUTE FULL_NAME/A51 = FIRST_NAME || (' ' | LAST_NAME);
The first hard-concatenation || ensures that any trailing blanks in FIRST_NAME are ignored. The second soft-concatenation appends 1 blank and the LAST_NAME to FIRST_NAME - the brackets are important.

Manuals are available from a link at the top of the forum pages. Look for "Search the Technical Documentation Library".

Seems to have gotton me the required real estate I require.

I have another quick question
Editing a field which is $234.00 for example to be $234 (or 6 numeric with 2 dec places to be just 4 numeric for the purposes of the report)

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT WHEELBASE/P6M AS 'Wheel Base'
END

You can reformat the field "on the fly" by adding the format to the field name.
