I am on 7.6.7 now and I find the following: 1. If my output is HTML then everything is on one line. 2. If my output is PDF, then it will depend whether WF can squeeze the "Total" caption into the first column. See the example:
-* File SubTotalOneLine.fex
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT
SALES RETAIL_COST COMPUTE RATIO=RETAIL_COST/SALES;
BY COUNTRY
ON COUNTRY RECOMPUTE
-*ON COUNTRY RECOMPUTE AS '*'
ON COUNTRY SUBFOOT
" "
ON TABLE NOTOTAL
ON TABLE SET HTMLCSS ON
-*ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT HTML
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
UNITS=IN,
SQUEEZE=ON,
ORIENTATION=PORTRAIT,
$
TYPE=REPORT,
GRID=ON,
FONT='TIMES NEW ROMAN',
SIZE=10,
$
ENDSTYLE
END
Try with the different options.
