Hello I've successfully embedded a self-service WebFOCUS query into my Excel 2007 spreadsheet from my apps folder using WebQuery. Now, I would like to utilize the security and administration of MRE by moving the query into a domain, then reference it there. There's not a lot of documentation nor discussion on using WebQuery or embedded queries in Excel spreadsheet, so I'm not sure if it can be done. For my purpose, I would need to set up the spreadsheet so that it not only pulls in the query results, which it does fine now from self-service, but also pass to MRE the user's ID and password from the Windows XP environment. Does anyone know if this has been done, if it can be done, and possibly have an example? I can upload anything necessary to discuss this. The FOCUS code is fairly irrelevant at this point, since it is a straight-forward query, with internally-formatted output. The 'magic' here would be in the settings within Excel to pull the query from MRE with security intact. I've tried setting up the URL with, http://bilnxdwlk4.fmr.com:1500...older=#icrezsc7w1bo, but MRE merely errors, asking for a log-in. The WebFOCUS query name, as you can see is wfq_mobility_load.fex. Another impediment appears to be that WebQuery imposes a size limitation on the URL string. That may render this entire attempt impossible, but I thought I'd ask. ThanksThis message has been edited.
