I recall seeing a New Feature, enabling one to create a synonym based on SELECT code contained in a .sql file accessible to the WF server. I have poked around in the CSS site, but couldn't locate it. (How do you search for .sql, the file extension, without getting back every instance of SQL?)
Anybody (Ginny?) know where to look? (Or was I dreaming?)
I assume the created synonym either includes the SQL code within the generated .acx file, or points to the .sql file. Either way, this should make it possible to treat the SQL code much like a view stored on the data server, without DBA involvement for creating and migrating the view from development and testing to production.
