We’re currently running our main Reporting Server on an AIX server, shared with several databases, and have to move it to a new box by itself (and create a failover/test server on a separate identical system). Our OS choices are either Solaris or Red Hat Enterprise, running on appropriate Sun servers for the OS.
The question is, on which of the two operating systems does WF Reporting Server perform more reliably? AIX 5.3 runs like a top – hate to move away from it but no choice.
Greatly appreciate hearing from anyone with production experience on these platforms; please let me know your thoughts.
Production RS: 7.6.2, 7.6.3 RS on AIX v.5.3, Mainframe, Windows 7.6.5; Development: 7.6.5 & 7.6.4 Databases:Oracle10g on AIX, Mainframe IDMS, SQL Server 2005/2008, Access Peoplesoft Student, HR; JDE Financials
