I was wondering if anybody had any experience with taking the webfocus-5-2.war file and then repackaging it as an .ear files for deployment in an application server?

Here is some updated information.

While right now there is no such user or client documentation, there will be in the near future. We have checked with our writers regarding this topic and the soon-to-be released WebFOCUS Security and Administration 5.3 manual describes repackaging as a .war file.

We can let you know when the Security and Administration 5.3 manual is available. We are also awaiting feedback from the Product Managers as to documenting this topic (in detail) for future releases. In addition, we will provide the information to the programmers so that hopefully this will become a new feature in the next release.

We really appreciate your participation in Focal Point. I hope this helps. Big Grin

Thanks,

My requirements are that I need to take your .war file and repackage as part of a .ear file. In addition I need to encapsalate the information you currently read from the native file system as part of the deployed .war file within the .ear file.

Based on the case I opened it appears this is something you'll consider for the future. Great but doesn't help today.

Anyway, after a bit of experimentation I was able to repackage everything to meet my needs. So the web application only reads files within it's application space and not off the native files system.
